Target value

The ideal value of a product parameter as determined by a customer, engineer, or manager. For example, the target diameter of a cylinder is 0.55 cm; this is the perfect diameter for this part.

The target value is usually (but not always) centered between the lower and upper specification limits. Ideally, the mean should be close to the target value.
