1    Choose Stat > Basic Statistics > 1-Sample Poisson Rate.

2    Do one of the following:

·    If you have raw data:

1    Choose One or more samples, each in a column, and enter the columns containing the raw data in Sample columns. Minitab performs a separate analysis for each sample.

2    If your data consist of one column of unique values and a separate column for their frequencies, enter the column of frequencies in Frequency columns (optional).

·    If you have summarized data:

1    Choose Summarized data.

2    In Sample size, enter a single numeric integer for the sample size. You can analyze multiple summarized samples simultaneously if they have equal sample sizes.

3    In Total occurrences, enter one or more numeric integers for the total number of occurrences in each sample. Minitab performs a separate analysis for each sample, and applies the single value in Sample size to all summarized samples.

3    If you want to perform a hypothesis test on the rate of occurrence, check Perform hypothesis test, and enter the hypothesized value for the test in Hypothesized rate.

4    If you like, use any dialog box options, and click OK.
