The data can be entered in the following ways:

·    Enter the data for both samples in the same numeric column in the worksheet. Provide a separate ID column to identify which sample each row belongs to. The ID column can contain numeric data, text data, or date/time data.

·    Enter the data for each sample in a separate numeric column in the worksheet.

·    Enter summarized data—the sample size and the standard deviation or variance of each sample—directly in the dialog box.

Outliers can have a strong influence on the results, especially if the sample sizes are small. You should try to determine the cause of any unusual observations and correct any measurement mistakes or data entry errors. Consider removing data that are associated with special causes.
