Orthogonal Regression

Error Variance Ratio Table - Error Variance Ratio

The error variance ratio is error variance for the response divided by the error variance for the predictor. This value is specified by the user prior to analysis. One way to obtain estimates of the error variances is to perform separate Gage R&R studies for X and Y.

Example Output

Error Variance Ratio (New/Standard): 1

Interpretation

From previous research, the lab technicians know that the error variances in the two instruments is approximately the same. Therefore, the error variance ratio is 1.
