To use Analyze Factorial Design to fit a model, you must

·    create and store the design using Create Factorial Design, or

·    create a design from data that you already have in the worksheet with Define Custom Factorial Design

You can fit models with up to 127 terms. To find a useful subset of terms, you can use a stepwise procedure to automatically fit the model.

When you have center points in your data set, Minitab automatically does a test for curvature.

Note

Center points are not available with split-plot designs.

You can also generate effects plots - normal, half normal, and Pareto - to help you determine which factors are important and diagnostic plots to help assess model adequacy. For the diagnostic plots, you have the choice of using regular residuals, standardized residuals, or deleted residuals - see Choosing a residual type.

Minitab stores the last model that you fit for each response variable. You can use the stored model to quickly generate predictions, factorial plots, contour plots, surface plots, overlaid contour plots, and optimized responses.

Responses: Select the column(s) containing the response variable(s). If there is more than one response variable, Minitab fits separate models for each response. You can have up to 25 responses.
