Stat > DOE > Factorial > Factorial Plots
Use to display the main effects and interaction effects for a factorial design model. These plots illustrate how a response variable relates to one or more variables. You can produce two types of factorial plots:
Although you can use these plots to display the effects, be sure to evaluate statistical significance by looking at the effects in the analysis of variance table.
Note |
If you want to compare only data means, use Stat > ANOVA > Main Effects Plot and Stat > ANOVA > Interaction Plot. |
See Stored Model Overview for a discussion about how to use stored models.
Response: Choose a response variable from the drop-down list.
Variables to Include in Plots Use the arrow buttons to move terms from one list to the other. Select a term in one of the lists, then click an arrow button. The double arrows move all the variables in one list to the other. You can also move a variable by double-clicking it. If an expected term does not appear in either list, that term was not included in the model.
Available: Lists all variables in your model that can be included in the plot(s).
Selected: Lists all variables that will be included in the plot(s). You can have up to 50 variables in the Selected list.
Terms to display:
Only model terms: Choose to display plots only for the terms that are in the model. All plots display the fitted values.
All terms: Choose to display plots for all terms that include variables that are in Selected. Plots for terms that are not in the model display the data means.
For example, assume that a model specifies Categorical 1 and Categorical 2 but not the two-way interaction. If you move both terms to Selected and choose Only model terms, the interaction is not displayed. However, if you choose All terms, the interaction plot for Categorical 1*Categorical 2 is displayed because both terms are selected.
