Example of distribution fit (histogram)

In the Example of a simple histogram, you determine the amount of torque required to remove shampoo bottle caps. You want to fit a normal distribution to the data.

Note

You can also fit a distribution by choosing a With Fit option from the histogram gallery.

Distribution

1    Open the worksheet CAP.MTW.

2    Choose Graph > Histogram.

3    Choose Simple, then click OK.

4    In Variables, enter Torque.

5    Click Data View.

6    Click the Distribution tab.

7    Check Fit Distribution.

8    Click OK in each dialog box.
