Select among options for the confidence interval and hypothesis test.

Dialog box items

Confidence level: Enter the level of confidence desired. Enter any number between 0 and 100. The default is 95%.

Test mean: Enter the null hypothesis value, which is the hypothesized population mean of the paired differences. The default is 0.

Alternative: Choose the form of the alternative hypothesis: Difference< hypothesized difference (lower-tailed), Difference hypothesized difference (two-tailed), or Difference > hypothesized difference (upper-tailed). The default is a two-tailed test. If you choose a lower-tailed or an upper-tailed hypothesis test, an upper or lower confidence bound will be constructed, respectively, rather than a confidence interval.
