Acceptance Sampling by Variables - CompareSampling Criteria - Lot Size |
There are a few things to consider when choosing a lot or batch size for sampling. Typically, people choose a lot size that is convenient for shipping and handling for both the supplier and consumers. For example, an entire shipment may make up a lot size. Because sampling plans assume homogeneity of parts in a given lot, the units that comprise a lot should be produced under the same processing conditions. Also, larger lots are generally more economical to inspect than a series of smaller lots.
Example Output |
Lot quality in defectives per million
Lower Specification Limit (LSL) 0.395 Upper Specification Limit (USL) 0.415 Lot Size 3600 |
Interpretation |
For the camera data, lenses come in lots of 3600.
