One-Sample Equivalence Test

Summary

Use to evaluate the equivalence between the mean of a product or process and a target value. For example, you can test whether the strength of a new drug is equivalent to a target of 5mg/ml.

You can also evaluate whether the mean is greater than or less than the target.

Data Description

You conduct an experiment on a new way to seal potato chip bags. You want to ensure that the force required to open the bags is within 10% of the target value of 4.2 N (Newtons). You collect 28 bags that are sealed using the new method and test the force required to open them.
