In the Example of a simple histogram, you determine the amount of torque required to remove shampoo bottle caps. You want to fit a lowess smoother to the data.

Lowess smoother

1    Open the worksheet CAP.MTW.

2    Choose Graph > Histogram.

3    Choose Simple, then click OK.

4    In Graph variables, enter Torque.

5    Click Scale.

6    Under Y Scale Low and X Scale Low, check Minor ticks. Click OK.

7    Click Data View.

8    Click the Smoother tab.

9    Under Smoother, choose Lowess.

10  Click OK in each dialog box.
