Stat > Regression > Stability Study > Predict

Use a stability study model to predict the mean response at a specified time. If batch is included in the final model, you can also predict responses for specific batches. You can also do the following:

·    Create a confidence interval for the mean response.

·    Create a prediction interval for a single observation.

·    Store the prediction information in the worksheet.

Dialog box items

Response: Choose a response variable from the drop-down list.

In the second drop-down list, choose whether to enter variable settings or worksheet columns that contain the variable settings.

Enter individual values: Choose to enter variable settings.

Enter columns of values: Choose to enter columns from the worksheet.

Note

If you choose Enter columns of values, Minitab stores the results in the worksheet columns and does not display them in the Session window. To display the results in the Session window, check the items in the Results dialog box.

Variables table

This table contains a column for each variable in the model. Depending on your choice in the second drop-down list, you enter either values or columns.

·    Values: Enter at least one value for each variable. For the time variable, match the data type from the model. For example, if the model is based on number of months, then enter number of months. For the batch variable, choose a value from the drop-down list.

·    Columns: Enter one column for each variable. Each column must contain the values for one variable. All columns must be the same length. The columns must match the data types from the model. For example, if the model is based on number of months and on the text values of "1" and "2" for batch, then enter a numeric column with number of months and a text column with the values "1" and "2".
