Make a summary for the HV linear power driver and flyback driver for their advantages and disadvantages:
HV linear driver:
- CC/Buck circuits, can be smaller, easy to design but low compatibility;
- LEDs in series with driver, easily affected by the voltage fluctuations, low capability to withstand of surge and thunder in line. Used in low end marketing side, LED is easy damaged;
- Mature design with low PF; if PF is higher, easy for flickering or strobing.
CV/CC flyback:
- Circuits is easy, reliability, cost is high;
- Can be ISOlated or non isolated, very mature on market, PF can be high. Most of charger/LED driver, adaptor(usb) use this design;
- Self-adaption for voltage fluctuations.
