Process steps for SQP:
1) Start with template of similar technology item if you have one and edit for the new item made with the same mfg tech. otherwise use a new SQP template.
2) Provide SQP with some details included for the supplier, and ask them to complete the SQP process steps and PFMEA details page.
3) Review the PFMEA on each process and define the QC plan with the supplier. Use as many of their default QC practices and methods as possible. But ask for additional QC for any process that has Cp<1.3. And for any process that defects can not be 100% eliminated. That is, if the process can produce a defect then should have PQC on that characteristic in the QC plan.
4) Review SQP with Y. And revise a 1st draft SQP with Y's feedback and consulting with supplier.
5) Send 1st draft SQP to me for feedback.
6) Finish SQP using feedback from me and final meeting with supplier.
Time frame to complete above is PRIOR TO 1st ARTICLE.
7) Supplier to follow the PQC included in the QC plan and report at checkpoints. Other SQP OQC and FQC should be followed too. But PQC developed using PFMEA, is the most effective quality control.
