Use to analyze the stability of a product over time and to determine the product's shelf life. Minitab fits a linear model to represent the relationship between the response variable, the time variable, and an optional batch factor. The batch factor can be fixed or random. Based on the model, Minitab calculates the shelf life, which is the length of time that the response is expected to remain within the specifications.

Dialog box items

Response: Enter the column that contains the measurement data, for example the concentration of a drug.

Time: Enter the column that contains the time each sample was taken.

Batch: Enter the column that indicates which batch each sample was taken from.

Lower spec: Enter the lowest acceptable value for the response. You can enter a lower specification limit, or an upper specification limit, or both.

Upper spec: Enter the highest acceptable value for the response.
